Andy Warhol is being honoured at the Grand Palais in a show entitled Warhol’s Wide World. Some 130 of the pop artist’s iconic paintings, among them the commissioned portraits of personalities, both famous and obscure, are on the walls of the Grand Palais. His subjects, ranging from Bardot, Jagger, Stallone to Mao, Yves Saint Laurent and Princess Caroline de Monaco are illuminated with the same star-like aura imparted upon them by the artist. Warhol, painter, filmmaker and ultimately icon itself was fascinated with the face and indulged in self-portraiture.
From March 8th to July 13th at the Grand Palais
