There are a zillion ways to see Paris, and no two travelers do it exactly the same. First timers may hit all the major sights but see little else, while veteran visitors might blow off museums altogether and spend all their time shopping and hanging out in cafes. It’s very likely that you fall somewhere in between. How much you can accomplish will depend largely on how many days you’ll be in the city and what pace you want to set. To make the most of your time, it’s always a good idée to avoid the ricocheting pinball technique – bouncing across town to see one attraction and then back again for another. If you only have a few days, think about lowering your ambitions and choosing only a handful of sight.
Here I propose you six itineraries, each of which will show you several of the top sights. Every itineraries is meant to wind up around nightfall, leaving you in a place where you can easily hop on a Metro back to your hotel. Shopping, when included, is left for the end of the afternoon so you won’t be trudging around town with shopping bags.
- Day 1 : The Louvre & Champs-Elysées
- Day 5 : The Latin Quarter and the Islands
- Day 6 : Champs-Elysées & the River
